The New Parochialism? Polish Migrant Catholic Parishes on the Path of Change

The text engages with the ongoing discussion about role played by religion in social life, attention paid to transnational dynamics of religiosity migrants’ individual experiences, expectations and modes involvement. We concentrate on research problem: how does Roman Catholic Church, through networks faithful, facilitate, challenge, intersect adaptation or integration migrants their new settings? study draws a survey conducted sample ( n = 620) Polish Catholics Great Britain 2019. With cluster analysis, we distinguished five categories participants parish life. results concern declared respondents confessional non-confessional (charity, leisure, tourist, cultural) activities. It shows two paths respondents’ religious experience: old parochialism one. first attitude, represents general religious-community context, while second one emphasizes socio-cultural background cooperative style work based associations goals-achievement. Our findings specificity resulting from belonging migrant parishes outside Poland this can be juxtaposed information concerning mainstream Britain.
